Part 1: How To Add Simple Products On Magento

The products you sell in your e-commerce store are your ticket to making sales. And every once in awhile, you as the owner, are going to personally input the products. Lucky for you, Magento has great features for doing that from the backend. In this article, we will share with you how to manually create the six types of products in Magento: simple, virtual, downloadable, configurable, bundle and group products. We will give you no more than 8 hassle-free steps that will surely satisfy you.


Part 1: Simple Products


Adding Simple Products


A Magento simple product is the most used product type for Magento webshops. This is because it’s the most general product type of them all. A Magento simple product should be used for a single item without any specific selectable variations.


Step 1: Input your credentials to the admin panel.

Step 2: In your dashboard, click on Catalog and then, click Manage Products. You will be automatically directed to the products page.

Step 3: Click on Add Products and select Simple Products in product type then click Continue button.


Step 4: Fill in product information. You must not leave a blank in the input fields with asterisk because those are important.

Step 5: If you’re done inputting the product information in the General tab, click on Prices to input the price of the product.

Step 6: Click on Meta Information for SEO.

Step 7: Go to inventory to input the number of products available. Make sure that you put the product “In Stock” for it to be visible in your magento shop. Hit Save and Continue Edit. Your new simple product is now added.


Step 8: To view the new product you added, Click on Catalog and then, click Manage Products.
